Jan De Bont has been a filmmaker since the tender age of 10. After graduating from the National Film Academy in Amsterdam, he soon became a key part of the Dutch new wave of filmmakers, directing documentaries, and serving as DP on several remarkable Dutch films. His success in Europe soon caught the attention of Hollywood where he quickly became one of the most sought-after cinematographers working with such filmmakers as John McTiernan, Ridley Scott, Joel Schumacher, Richard Donner and Paul Verhoeven.

In 1993 Jan directed his first Hollywood feature film, SPEED, which became a huge critical and commercial success. His subsequent hands-on efforts on TWISTER, THE HAUNTING and TOMB RAIDER: THE CRADLE OF LIFE point further to his ability to integrate character into the scope of very large films.  Jan's films have grossed over $1 billion worldwide. He most recently directed an anti-terrorism campaign for Saatchi & Saatchi/Lebanon through Wild Plum as well as a spot for Russian energy company, Gazprom, featuring Jason Statham. Other campaigns include Coca-Cola, Chevy Blazer, US Navy and Pirelli Tires.  Jan is currently in development on a variety of film and television projects.
